Sea World - Useful Tips

  1. Bring a waterproof camera to capture great action shots of kids in the "Shamu Soak Zone"!
  2. Hand-feed sea lions, dolphins and stingrays in various areas of the park. Check the feeding times when you arrive and plan to be in the area well in advance of when the feeder booths open.
  3. Look for Shamu & Crew characters from 9 a.m. to noon near the front gate. Be sure to bring a notepad for autographs!
  4. Check out the daily question and answer session at the Penguin Encounter. A penguin expert answers questions while feeding and interacting with the penguins. One lucky guest who answers a special question correctly will go behind the scenes and touch a real South Pole penguin!
  5. Arrange to have lunch when one of the large animal shows is going on in the stadiums. The restaurant lines are the shortest at this time.
  6. The lines for Kraken and Journey to Atlantis are shortest the first hour the park is open and the last hour before the park closes.
  7. Feeling a little overheated? Head into Shark Encounter or Manatees: The Last Generation? and cool off in the air conditioning.
  8. Riders get absolutely soaked on Journey to Atlantis. Unless you want your valueables getting ruined, you might consider renting a locker or leaving the items with a non-rider.
  9. Read the show schedule immediately upon entering. You will need to plan your day around the shows if you want to see them all.
  10. Adults can enjoy a free sample of beer at the Hospitality House.
