Welcome to the Orlando Vacation SeaWorld Orlando Overview!

SeaWorld Orlando is not just a theme park with rides but a zoological park of marine life with popular animal exhibits and shows. It is one of the top ten most visited amusement parks in the United States. Nearby separate experiences run by the same company include the Aquatica waterpark and Discovery Cove.

Seaworld Orlando is a much different experience than Walt Disney World but with many options that will need some advance planning. This overview is designed to help you get started with your plans. You can get additional personalized help by visiting our website at www.orlandovacation.com or calling 1-800-641-4008.

Unlike other theme parks, SeaWorld Orlando is not divided into specific lands but there are three main separate areas. There is a section that mimics the style of Key West, Florida and features most of the animal exhibits including a penguin encounter, shark encounter, sea turtles, Florida manatees, alligators, seals and many more. In addition, there are several rides including Kraken (a floorless roller coaster) and Manta (a flying roller coaster connected with an aquarium) as well as milder experiences like a sea carousel and a family oriented whale shaped roller coaster.

Another section is referred to as Shamu’s Happy Harbor and is primarily a children’s play area but also the official home for Shamu, the killer whale mascot of the park. A final section called the Waterfront resembles a quaint seaside village and contains shops and restaurants, as well as the park's iconic 400 foot tall Sky Tower ride that gives a birds-eye view of the surrounding area.

The live shows at SeaWorld Orlando often feature trained animals including the main show that showcases Shamu the whale performing and splashing the audience in daily live shows in his own special stadium. While there are clever shows with sea lions, otters, and even dogs and cats that have been rescued from local animal shelters, there are other entertainment offerings including music concerts, a Polynesian luau and an artistic acrobatic show similar in style to Cirque du Soleil. During certain times of the year, a massive multimedia fireworks and dancing water fountain nightime show is scheduled.

SeaWorld Orlando also offers more than a half dozen special tours at an additional cost to get a closer look at dolphins, penguins, sea lions or a glimpse behind the scenes. If you are interested in booking those options, please contact SeaWorld Orlando directly.
SeaWorld Parks and Entertainment also runs the Aquatica water park themed to the South Pacific that is located just across the street from the main park. It is one of the top five most visited waterparks in the United States.
There are multiple raft slides, two lazy rivers, two wave pools and a designated children’s area with many play features. One of the distinctive attractions is Dolphin Plunge, where guests in an enclosed tube slide through a pool containing dolphins.

SeaWorld Parks and Entertainment also operates another area across the street called Discovery Cove that only allows a maximum of a thousand guests in the park at any one time at a premium price. Guests can have an intimate interaction with a variety of animals including bottlenose dolphins, exotic birds, tropical fish and more. If you are interested in this experience, please contact SeaWorld Orlando directly.

A visit to SeaWorld Orlando means making plans to understand where you might get drenched with water, where you can cool down out of the hot sun, how early to show up for the shows, where to check for the feeding times of the animals and more. It can be a little overwhelming for a first time visitor so it is nice to get some expert help.
